We too have been shopping at Copperfields for about 17 years. We have seen the changes from the single shop on the High Street, to the addition of the women's shop on Chequer Street, to the closure of those two and the move to the big current shop on Chequer Street. The staff are always knowledgeable and helpful, and we love to be able to get good quality, designer brands without having to pay silly prices or go too far. However, it's a shame the local market no longer supports the sale of a good range of work suits, shirts and ties. I would also warn shoppers that the shop has a no refund policy - exchange only. This hasn't usually bothered us as if something isn't suitable, we can usually find an alternative to exchange it for.

St Albans Couple

I have been shopping at D Copperfields since i was a teenager, i’m now in my mid 30’s. The reason why i keep coming back is the buyers for the shop know what us locals like to wear. The newish shop on Chequer street is the best shop they have had due to it being well lit and much bigger than the old shop. Some of the staff have been there as long as i have shopped there, so i always get greeted with a hello and a chat.

Whats_on_St_Albans_Loyalty_Discount_Card.html

Items are typically 10% or 20% more expensive you would get in say a Lacoste, Paul Smith or Stone Island. I have found the staff very helpful but the owners not so. I have spent a lot in that shop and can never get a discount or even bulk discount on multi purchases. Times must be hard.
