The restaurant has three main areas to sit in and eat. Firstly we have the main body of the restaurant seating as many as 50-60 people at any given time which is classic in its design. From this area you also get a view of the open plan kitchen and our pizza oven, built in a traditional style and enhanced with smoking beechwood.

The mezzanine, which seats up to 40 people, is available at any time for you and offers a private and secluded environment for your intimate meal or business meeting. It overlooks the restaurant and is set amongst the oak beams of the original building. This area can also be used for private functions as it is separate from the restaurant itself.

Our final area is our multi purpose and beautifully crafted garden and outside seating area,  this multi purpose area can be used as a traditional dining area and is a fantastic place to sit on a warm day or evening but can also be used for any function or event. It is particularly popular and appropriate for parties as it allows children that bit of extra freedom that they need for the duration of your event so they can let off just that bit more steam. Have a look at the functions page for more information.

Kamillo’s is a welcoming restaurant and environment for you to be in. We believe very much in the principle that food is only a part of the experience and our staff are actively encouraged to do whatever is necessary for you to enjoy your time with us. We can offer you simplicity, terrific food and a convivial atmosphere for your eating experience.

Kamillo's is a fantastic place to eat. We go there at least twice a month, the service is always great and the pizza's are massive.

Kamillo’s is a great restaurant, the pizza’s are one of the best i’ve had in St Albans. Nice wine list to wash the pizza down. The wife swears by their seafood pasta and they are very very child friendly and also host a lot of christening parties.

You never really know how your meal will turn out here. We've been about 4 times, but the last visit was quite poor (nov 09). Generally the food is ok and the setting is nice (cosy italian restaurant) with balcony.

The last trip though went as such; we ordered our drinks and was promptly served which was nice, but the promptness didnt stop. We ordered olives (an appitizer), 2 x starters and 2 main courses. The olives arrived with the starters (fail). and the olives themselves were watery with a poor dressing.

The starters (fried camberet + stuffed mushrooms) were nice and fairly filling. We handed back our plates and 30 seconds later the main courses landed on our table (when are we expected to eat these poor olives?). For the main course we had pizza's one of which were fairly dry and plain (not inedible though), but because we'd just finished our starters, we found it hard to demolish the lot.

We were in and out in record time (not that we planned it that way)...and it wasn’t a particularly busy night there. Im sure the waiters weren’t trying for a quick turnaround (the waiters are actually quite friendly and attentive)... it just wasn’t good restauranting really.

We have had better experiences with them in the past, so maybe it was just a one off...maybe not.

Booked table for 8pm - didn't eat until gone 11pm. What a shambles.

Whatashame

Just got back from a first visit to Kamillos, can i first say what a lovely clean restaurant it is,and i am a professional pest controller. The staff are so friendly, the food was excellent, and plenty of choice, as my wife is vegetarian they even said they would make something for her, even if it wasn’t on the menu, such a relaxing atmosphere, un hurried, we will be back, cheers Kamillo!!!
