The restaurant offers Modern European Cuisine with the emphasis on French food. The food is prepared with a well defined range of cooking methods aiming to provide a balanced menu with a variety of seasonal products and ingredients. The food is served in a friendly and relaxed environment.

The Restaurant Building is one of the historical buildings in St. Albans. The building is Grade II listed and dates back to the 15th Century. The building originally traded as the "Kings Arms", it was later called the "Old Kings Arms", which can still be found written on the front of the building. We have taken  great care and consideration in redecorating the interior.

The Albany in St Albans is a great restaurant. I went there for a birthday meal recently and all our needs were catered for. There is a great choice on the menu and the food was presented very well indeed and tasted marvelous. After we’d spent 20 minutes working out the bill (we’d had quite a large amount of wine) we all thought it was also fantastic value for money.

The Albany is, in my opinion, the best restaurant in St Albans. The chef is a master of his art. I have never had a bad meal there and I can't wait to eat there again.

I went to the Albany Restaurant for a Friday treat. I’d not been before but had heard great things. The food was very tasty and well presented. The portions were very stingy. I opted for scallops to start. I only had 2 (bit tight) and then the main was lamb with mashed potato and carrots and sweetcorn. The lamb 3 cutlets which were cooked to perfection, the mash was about a tablespoon so then was gone straight away in one mouthful, carrots 2 sweetcorn (the type you get in chinese restaurants) 2. So £18.95 for a set 2 course menu tasted great but left feeling hungry so cracked open the fridge when i got home. The wife told me off for being greedy so will give it 4 out of 5.
