The Waffle House is centered around a 16th Century Watermill in a historic part of St Albans. The water wheel has been restored and is continually maintained to allow it to still trun today.

The wholewheat, white and Spelt flours used in the choice of waffles are organically grown, produced and stoneground at the local Redbournburry Mill, just a couple of miles upriver.

For many years we have used organically farmed meats, fresh free range eggs, hams from naturally reared pigs. The coffee and teas are organic and/or fair trade and we now use only organic milk.

The Waffle House  is the perfect location for almost every occasion, serving Breakfast, Lunches and Afternoon snacks. Our light crispy waffles are individually cooked to order and provide the perfect base for one of our selection of toppings, either savoury ir sweet. Also equal emphasis is placed on vegetarian dishes of which there are always a number to choose from.

Found this on the internet, my husband was not looking forward to visiting it, queued for about 20 minutes, the waiter seeing people to their tables was unorganised and a bit miserable, but it was well worth the wait, and putting up with this man. The waitress serving us was friendly and quick. The waffles were delicious, I had the ham, cheese and mushroom, which was delicious, no complaints whatsoever, I also ordered a side salad which was fresh and tasty, my hubby had the Chilli-con-Carne waffle, which he said was lovely and actually said he would definitely come back again, even after his initial thought that he would not enjoy waffles. He ordered a pot of tea, very strong, he loves strong tea, which you very rarely get a good tasty strong tea served in these sort of places. I had a small chocolate shake, bit on the small side, so next time a large is a must, cos this shake was gorgeous, so very delicious. As I just couldn't resist I even had a sweet waffle for desert, which again was delicious, I had a plain waffle with chocolate sauce & ice cream, the sauce was very tasty, and the ice cream creamy, which accompanied the hot waffle perfectly. I would not say it was expensive, and will definitely return if I have the opportunity.

I loved the setting of the Waffle House, and loved the waffle toppings, but as for the waffles themselves, I didn't really like them much. They are too light, too little consistency. I love more chunky and consistent waffles.

I went to The Waffle House on the weekend. I thought the queue was too long, and the food wasn't worth the wait. The toppings were good in both the sweet and savoury waffles, but the waffles themselves were not very good. Not very impressed really.
